Privacy Policy

The microphone

Daily Guitar listens through your device's microphone so that lessons, chord practice, and the tuner can respond to what you play. This is the core of how the app works.

• Audio is analysed on your device, in real time, and discarded immediately.
• Audio is never recorded to a file, never saved, and never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
• Nothing said or played near the device is retained after the moment it is heard.
• The app only listens during lessons, practice, and the tuner. You can revoke microphone access at any time in your device settings, though the app cannot teach without it.

What stays on your device

The following is stored locally on your phone and is not sent to us:

• Your lesson and course progress
• Your appearance and theme preference
• Whether you have completed the introduction

Because this is kept only on your device, deleting the app deletes this information permanently. We have no copy of it and cannot restore it.

Information you choose to send us

If you use the support form inside the app to contact us, we receive what you enter:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your message
• A screenshot or photo, only if you choose to attach one

We use this solely to read your message, reproduce the problem you are describing, and reply to you. We do not use it for marketing, we do not add you to any mailing list, and we do not share it with anyone.

This information is stored using Supabase, a hosted database service acting as our processor.

Crash and performance reports

When the app crashes or behaves badly, a diagnostic report is sent to Sentry, processed in the United States, so we can find and fix the fault. These reports describe the software, not you: the error and where in the code it happened, the app version, the device model, and the operating system version. They do not contain your name, your email, your location, or any audio.

What we do not do

• We do not require an account, and there is nothing to sign in to.
• We do not show advertising.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not use the advertising identifier.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and we do not share it with data brokers.
• We do not build advertising or marketing profiles about you.

How long we keep things

Support messages and any attached image are kept for as long as needed to resolve your issue and to keep a record of the conversation, and are deleted when no longer needed. Crash reports are retained by Sentry for a limited period under their standard retention policy and then removed automatically.

Children

Daily Guitar is a general-audience app suitable for all ages. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The only way to send us personal information is the support form, which a child would have to fill in deliberately. If you believe a child has sent us their information, email us and we will delete it promptly.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email us and we will action it. Since there are no accounts, the request is simply matched to the email address you contacted us from.

You can also delete your locally stored progress at any time by deleting the app.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
